"The Sugarplum Trap" in PlayGround's "A Very Hitchcock Christmas"
My short play “The Sugarplum Trap,” originally produced by PlayGround in 2022, is getting a revival!
PlayGround is bringing back their delightfully twisted “Hitchcock Christmas” holiday show, and with it, my Christmas-themed parody of Notorious. See what happens when a suave Interpol agent recruits a down-on-her luck cocktail waitress to spy out the hidden secrets of Santa’s workshop!
It’ll be a totally new staging, too, this time directed by Jim Kleinmann and featuring actors Zoe Chien, Brady Morales-Woolery, David Cramer, and April Ballesteros.
The evening will also feature holiday twists on other Hitchcock classics like Rope and The Birds, by local playwrights Daniel Arzola, Shoshanna Green, Jonathan Josephson, and Stan Stone.
There will be two evening performances at Potrero Stage in San Francisco on December 7 and 8, plus options to stream the show from home through December 31. Tickets are pay-what-you-will! More information and links here.
